Selena Season 2: What All We Know About It’s Comeback To Screens

The show Selena is based on the star Selena Quintanilla‘s solo career. Played by star Christian Serratos, it is about to get its second instalment. Season 2 will be based on the Rise to Fame of the Pop Singer.

About Selena Quintanilla:

She was an American singer, songwriter, spokesperson, model, actress, and fashion designer. In Addition, she is “Queen of Tejano music,” she was a music legend with a great sense of fashion. According to Billboards, she was the 1990’s top-selling Latin Artist of that decade.

Her single “Como la Flor” was the most popular and became her signature song. She won numerous awards throughout her career.

But sadly, on March 31, 1995, at the age of 23; she was shot by Yolanda Saldívar her friend and former manager of her fashion company, Selena Etc Boutiques.

Selena: The series:

Based on Selena’s life, there are acclaimed movies, podcasts, documentaries, and now, a Netflix show.

Selena: the series premiered on December 4; focusing on her early days and her teenage years, featuring some of the lesser-known life details. Christian says, “The first part was nerve-racking because there was less footage for me to base my performance on. But at the same time, it was more relaxed, because I got more liberty. People don’t know that version of Selena very much”.

When further asked about season 2, she says, “Our second part we’re going to see a lot more of the icon.

Selena The Series Season 2:

Production for season 2 is already begun. The show’s set is in Northern Baja California.
Ricardo Chavira, playing the role of Selena’s father Abraham Quintanilla; represents Latinx culture and is devotes to employing Latinx actors, creators, and crew. So, Baja California is currently hiring 600 people for jobs for the series Selena.

Chavira, in his interview, said, “I think it’s a great time for Selena. With regards to Latinos in our industry, I think there’s been a bit of an underrepresentation. As we all know, representation matters“.

Release Date:

However, the show is just announced; therefore there is no news about the release date. But as the show’s filming has begun, we can expect to see season 2 at some point in 2021.
