Shannen Doherty is an American actress, producer and also a director. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and got into acting since a very young age (11 years).

‘Charmed’ is an American supernatural fantasy drama TV series. Shannen Doherty played the lead as Prue Halliwell in the fictional drama series. She played the character of the eldest of the three sisters for three seasons. During the three seasons on Charmed, she was received very well by the audience for her powerful witch character.

Why did she leave Charmed?

As per reports, there was ongoing tension in the sets between the two leads, Doherty and Milano. Although the series was set for 8 seasons, Doherty left after season 3. The episode in which her character gets killed was directed by Shannen Doherty herself. Her absence on the show was further filled by the actress Rose McGowan.

Doherty hosted a few and starred in many TV shows after quitting Charmed in 2001. Moreover, in 2006, she produced and starred in her own reality show by the name ‘Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty’. Later in 2007, Doherty was included in the Entertainment Weekly’s list of 100 Greatest Television Icons. Latest in 2016, she joined the cast of Heathers TV series. She is playing a different role than her original character (in 1988).

Currently, in February, she announced that she is battling stage-four breast cancer. Keeping aside the past rivalry, Milano also posted a note showing her support.
