Airing from 1965-1966 Thunderbirds is a puppet show that will now be remastered and re-edited. This concize remake of the original show is named Shin Complete Thunderbirds.
Announcement Regarding Shin Complete Thunderbirds:
On Sunday, Star Channel made an announcement regarding Shin Complete Thunderbirds that Hideaki Anno is the supervisor of this remastered version. He previously directed Cutie Honey (2004), Re: Cutie Honey (2004), Shin Godzilla (2016), and Evangelion. The remastered series will incorporate HD remastering and restoration. Anno also worked on the 1985’s compilation of the series, The Complete Thunderbirds. It was his first editing project.
On October 20, 2021, authorities announced that the series would be airing on BS10 Star Channel from 2022. Video service Star Channel EX -DRAMA & CLASSICS- will have the distribution rights of the series. The new remake will be broadcast to celebrate the 55th anniversary. Also, a brand new Thunderbirds 55 / GOGO will release on January 7, 2022. Thunderbirds 55 / GOGO is a movie compilation of the Thunderbirds: The Aniversary Episodes by Shinji Higuchi. Higuchi and Anno are two of the former artists that founded Gainax.
Gerry and Sylvia Anderson created this British puppet show in the 1960s. AP Films (APF) is the producer of the series, while ITC Entertainment distributed it. The franchise consists of two series. There are 32 episodes, each 50 minutes long. It also inspired many TV programs. The franchise also has two feature films- Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6. An anime based on the puppet series is also in the franchise. When the remake of the series premiered in 2015, three new episodes were created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original series.
