Reportedly, Charlie Cox will be making a return as Daredevil in Spider-Man 3 to defend Peter Parker. With Charlie Cox reportedly reprising his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man 3, various questions arise concerning how he could fit into this already massive film. ‘
Other rumours indicate that multiple Spider-Man characters from both the Maguire and Garfield continuity may appear, alongside J. Jonah Jameson and Doctor Strange. Hence, it seems as though there isn’t enough room to cram another character into Spider-Man 3.
However, there may be an excellent reason Peter Parker needs a lawyer on his side. After all, he has been outed as Spider-Man and also accused of the murder of Quentin Beck.
He is going to need a lawyer on his side, and Matt Murdock may be the only person who can prove Peter’s innocence. Some Spider-Verse or reality-altering event might likely serve as Spider-Man 3’s primary plot, given the arrival of Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro.
However, that doesn’t mean that the lingering threads from Spider-Man: Far From Home will be disappearing entirely. Peter needs to reckon with the accusations that Mysterio levied against him, as well as a public that wants him dead.
Spider-Man 3 | Daredevil Could Be Peter Parker’s Lawyer?
While Daredevil might be trying to bring Peter to justice for the murder of Quentin Beck, it is equally likely that he might be defending him. With his super-hearing, he can tell when a person is lying to him so that Daredevil would determine Peter’s innocence.
He might take on the case, given that he often takes work from underprivileged people without the resources to pay for a fair trial. The Stark Estate might help pay for a good lawyer, but that’s uncertain.
Either way, this could serve as an excellent B-Plot to the movie’s A-Plot. It would carry through the plot twists of Spider-Man: Far From Home without smothering the potential of a Spider-Verse style crossover.
Assuming the reports of Charlie Cox being in Spider-Man 3 are accurate, it seems unlikely that he will show up like some lawyer without ever donning the Daredevil costume.
Doctor Strange will probably be the significant superhero presence in Spider-Man’s life, especially where interdimensional travel is concerned.
It’s doubtful that Daredevil might engage in any combat, other than potentially an initial confrontation with Peter early on in the film where he thinks Peter might be guilty.
