Spider-man 3 filming creates controversy for Atlanta!
Marvel studios shoot their movies in the sneakiest way possible to refrain from any spoilers getting out. The recent one is Spider-man 3. The makers have chosen Atlanta for quite a while along with the cast for shooting. However, things took a turn for the production when some controversy came up with local parents over the use of two schools for principal photography. The schools are closed now for over eight months and still the shooting of the film was continued there.
Spider-Man 3 school controversy
The Atlanta Public Schools system shut down the schools in March. The curriculum was then completely set for online studies taking in consideration the pandemic situation. Students as well as schools are uncertain of when the on-campus mode becomes possible. APS also did not allow booking the place for Hollywood productions. Contradictory to that, Spider-Man 3 is the first film since March to be approved to use Atlanta’s Fredrick Douglass High School and Henry W. Grady High School in the earlier parts of next year.
According to what sources confirmed, Marvel Studios location manager Ian Easterbrook came to the rescue. He offered a whopping $50,000 to acquire the location for shoot. Ian put forward a very convincing point of how the location was an important aspect. It was very significant for the storyline and eventually the success of the movie.
Will the shoot resume?
The production is currently scheduled to filming at Douglass High School the weekend of January 22nd and at Grady the weekend of March 19th. The report suggests filming will only take one day at each site, though two additional days are required for set-up and tear-down. Should school be back in session by then, filming wouldn’t begin in the schools until students have left for the weekend.
Electro is back
Very little is known regarding the plot of the movie. But, one thing that is enough for us to stare at our screens is Jamie Foxx who will return to his role of “Electro.” He played this role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Jacob Batalon, who plays Peter’s best friend expresses his excitement of working with his “childhood hero.” “I’m a huge fan of Jamie Foxx. Like, literally, I grew up watching his things so being able to work with all these influential people in these movies has been like a godsend,” the Spider-Man star told ComicBook.com when we spoke with him earlier this month. “I truly can’t believe … it’s really because of Spider-Man that I get to meet all my heroes. Just having Jamie Foxx, he’s so prolific, he’s this very diverse … he can just do everything. It’s so awesome to really just know that he’s in our project. That’s so awesome.”
Release of Spider-Man 3
