Stand By Me Doraemon 2 CG anime film’s trailer is finally out. TOHO animation released the official trailer and teaser poster on Monday. The trailer mainly reveals the film’s cast and some insights into the film.

Satoshi Tsumabuki will return to play adult Nobita. Nobuko Miyamoto will give her voice for Nobita’s grandmother. Tomokazu Seki will resume his role as Doraemon. Additionally, Megumi Oohara, Yumi Kakazu, Subaru Kimura will play the roles of Nobita (child), Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo, respectively.
The film is mainly based on the franchise’s 2000 film Doraemon: A Grandmother’s Recollections. It is titled Doraemon: Obachan no Omoide in Japan. Additionally, the main essence of the film will not get lost. Shizuka and Nobita’s love story will continue at its pace present in the previous Stand By Me Doraemon film.
Stand By Me Doraemon: Release Date
Originally, the film was scheduled to release on August 7. The coronavirus pandemic disrupted the schedule which led to the delay. Ryuichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki will return to direct the film. Also, Yamazaki will write the film’s script.
The first Stand By Me Doraemon film marked the franchise’s first 3D CG. The movie managed to earn 8.38 billion yen (about US$77.16 million) in Japan. It bagged over 10 billion yen worldwide (about US$90 million) in the box-office collection.
Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Shin Kyoryū (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Dinosaur) is the franchise’s 2D anime film. It was originally going to release on March 6. Now, it will premiere on August 7 in Japan.
Doraemon has been of the favorite fictional character of all time. People of all ages love to watch it. Its anime series, movies, and even comics are a huge hit both in Japan and internationally. Its box office collection is a testament to its popularity.
