Stand By Me Doraemon 2 CG: Two Cast Members Added For Cameo In Anime Film!

Stand By Me Doraemon 2 CG anime film is right on track for a November release. The film’s team just announced new guest cast members for the film on Wednesday. Here’s everything you need to know about the announcement!

Stand By Me Doraemon 2 CG: The New Cast Members!

Comedian Bakarhythm (Hidetomo Masuno) and Television announcer Shin’ichi Hatori will appear for cameo roles in the anime film. Bakarhythm will play Nakameguro’s role in the film. Nakameguro is a salesman for the Future Department Store that sends gadgets for Doraemon from the future.

Shin’ichi Hatori will play the Substitution Rope’s voice, a device from the Future Department Store.

Satoshi Tsumabuki will return to play adult Nobita. Nobuko Miyamoto will give her voice for Nobita’s grandmother. Tomokazu Seki will resume his role as Doraemon. Megumi Oohara, Yumi Kakazu, Subaru Kimura will play the roles of Nobita (child), Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo, respectively.

Release Date!

The film is mainly based on the franchise’s 2000 film Doraemon: A Grandmother’s Recollections. It is titled Doraemon: Obachan no Omoide in Japan. Additionally, the main essence of the film will not get lost. Shizuka and Nobita’s love story will continue at its pace present in the previous Stand By Me Doraemon film.

The film is all set to land in Japan on November 20. Originally, the film was scheduled to release on August 7. The coronavirus pandemic disrupted the schedule and so the release was postponed. Ryuichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki will return to direct the film. Yamazaki will write the film’s script.

The first Stand By Me Doraemon film marked the franchise’s first 3D CG. The movie managed to earn 8.38 billion yen (about US$77.16 million) in Japan. It bagged over 10 billion yen worldwide (about US$90 million) in the box-office collection.

Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Shin Kyoryū (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Dinosaur) is the franchise’s 2D anime film. It was originally going to release on March 6. Now, it will premiere on August 7 in Japan.
