Star Trek: Lower Decks- First Trailer Gives Out Important Details

You may be aware of the news that the official trailer and the key art for Star Trek: Lower Decks, the new animated comedy is now out. The show can be accessed through the online streaming platform C.B.S. All Access from August 6 onwards. The new episodes of the series, ten episodes from season 1, will be made available to stream weekly on Thursdays, following the premiere. It will be available exclusively for the subscribers of C.B.S. All Access in the U.S.

The series is developed by the Emmy Award-winner Mike McMahan, who won this award for Rick and Morty Solar Opposites. The series is focussed on the support crew, which serves on the U.S.S. Cerritos, one of the least important ships in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Rutherford, Boiler, and Tendi have to keep up with their social lives and their duties. Also, they often face the ship being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.

The Starfleet crew that resides in the lower decks of the U.S.S. Cerritos includes Ensign Brad Boimler (voiced by – Jack Quaid), Ensign Beckett Mariner(Voiced by – Tawny Newsome), Ensign Tendi(voiced by Noël Wells), and Ensign Rutherford(voiced by – Eugene Cordero). The bridge crew of the Starfleet characters includes Commander Jack Ransom(voiced by – Jerry O’Connell), Captain Carol Freeman(voiced by -Dawnn Levis), Lieutenant Shaxs(voiced by – Fred Tatasciore), and Doctor T’Ana(voiced by Gillian Vigman). The production of the series is done by C.B.S.’ Eye Animation Productions, which is the new arm of C.B.S. Television Studios, secret hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is the first animated series that will be joining the expanding Star Trek franchise on C.B.S. All Access. The franchise already includes the original Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Discovery.
