Stargirl from DC has now been renewed for a second season, and it will now air exclusively on The CW. This implies that from the starting of season 2, the superhero series will not be available in the DC universe. The series is focussed on a highschool girl sophomore Courtney Whitmore, a teen whose life is turned upside down when her mother remarries. She then moves the household from Los Angeles to a small community of Blue Valley in Nebraska. While trying to fit in her new world, Whitmore discovers that her stepfather is a sidekick to Starman, a long lost hero. She later finds out the cosmic staff of Starman. Soon in the story, Courtney inspires a group of young heroes to stop the Injustice Society, a group of villains from the past. This group of villains destroyed the legendary Justice Society of America in the past.

This shift of Stargirl will make it, initially, a DC Universe original, a CW series. The last fall of CW acquired a narrow window exclusively and played on the non-linear platform of the network. After making a debut on the DC Universe, the new episodes of the Stargirl are airing on the CW. It has done well for the platform as well as the network with substantial viewership. The show is currently running in the half-way of its first season. The DC Universe digital premium service commissioned the first season of the series.
