We have recently learned exclusively that Stephen Amell is recuperating at present after injuring his back earlier this week while shooting Heels, a Starz wrestling drama, based in Atlanta. A representative of Starz confirmed that while performing a stunt on the sets of Heels this week, Stephen sustained a back injury.
The representative added that he is now resting and recovering following a medical evaluation at home in anticipation of his return to set. Also, we were informed by the representative that the production of the show is set to be resumed as Stephen recuperates.Stephen Amell

Stephen Amell Sustains Back Injury On Set Of Heels
We would also like to tell you that he was immediately assessed by the on-set medic and stunt/wrestling coordinators of the show following his injury. The injury occurred while he was executing a thoroughly rehearsed stunt. The show requires a stunt coordinator, as well as a team including both the stunt trainers and wrestling trainers to be on set while the actors engage in the physical activities.
News of his back injury comes just days after the actor recently revealed that he recently battled with the coronavirus, on the latest episode of Michael Rosenbaum‘s Inside of You podcast, which was recorded on October 20, a full week before the release of it. Amell walked listeners through his experience of testing positive for the coronavirus, quarantining, and eventually being cleared to return to set.
He said when it happened, when he got tested positive for the test, for him, it became, Holy F***, he just destroyed this show because he is no. 1 on the call sheet and he works every day, more or less. He is in his head going, S**t, they are going to have to shut down the production, and they are not yet done with the first block of two episodes.Stephen Amell

The show is set in a close-knit Georgia community, and it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals war over the legacy of their late father. In that ring, somebody must play the good guy, and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be really hard to live up to (and just as hard to leave behind).
Heels stars Amell as Jack, the charismatic villain or heel of the Duffy Wrestling Association.
