The Simpsons: How is it a part of DC Universe?

As of now, The Simpsons has been around for so long. This is one of the reasons that it has been a part of many different facets of pop culture even outside the uber-popular animated series.

The fun fact is, characters from this long-running show have also made a cameo in the DC Comics Universe. This shows that even in a world full of superheroes, The Simpsons do exist.

How long has The Simpsons been running?

As per reports, The Simpsons is the longest-running American sitcom in television history. It has aired 31 seasons and about 700 episodes. Now, The Simpsons are no strangers to making crossovers in the world of Marvel and comics.

In a recent episode, we also saw Kevin Feige voicing Chinnos, a clear parody of the Marvel supervillain Thanos. Also, Lisa, Bart, and Millhouse showed up in an issue of The Immortal Hulk. Even, more than 20 years ago, a few of Bart’s bullies also made a cameo in the pages of Young Justice.

What happens in the Halloween issue of Young Justice?

Halloween Issue, Young Justice #3 by Peter David, Lary Strucker, Todd Nauck, Jason Wright, and Ken Lopez, features Superboy, Robin, Impulse, and also the rest of the superteam throwing a party. Then, the story takes a turn to Chicago. In Chicago, Red Tornado is watching a girl named Traya, who is trick-or-treating as a witch.

Also, on her way home, Fraya meets a gang of bullies who try to steal her bag of candy. But, when they get close to her, she uses her own tornado powers to her rescue. Later, it turns out that those bullies came straight out of The Simpsons.

Now we know those bullies are clearly Kearney and Jimbo Jones. We can say that because the outfits perfectly match, with the hats, clothes, and accessories. They are practically the same as their The Simpsons counterparts.

As per reports, even before 20 years, The Simpsons was extremely influential in the pop culture landscape. So, it is no surprise to see that the characters just show up unofficially in the pages of Young Justice. We can fairly assume that many artists and writers were inspired by the show. So, it can be fun to see the characters on a few pages, even if it is as subtle as this.
