The Wendy Williams Season 12 show is all set to return this fall. But this time, they will back from the purple chair from her Manhattan studio rather than her home.

Williams is surely the queen of daytime gossip and everyone was eagerly waiting for their comeback. She announced on Tuesday that her long-running syndicated show will resume production in-studio on Sept. 21.

The Wendy Williams Show: Why did it stop?

The coronavirus pandemic caused “The Wendy Williams Show” to shut down in-studio production in mid-March. Similar all other talk shows and late-night series stopped their studio productions and then filmed form home. The shooting went on up until mid-May. Then Williams went on a hiatus due to complications with Graves’ disease. Repeats of the show will air till Sept. 21 after which the show will be back with all-new episodes.

This is the first daytime show that announced the comeback following the industry-wide coronavirus shutdown. After the lockdown, daily talk shows are most likely to return first because of the given the intimate nature of the sets. Productions can carry on with much of the staff working remotely at home and without an in-studio audience.

Williams’ show’s details are still being ironed out as no one can predict the state of the world during a pandemic. As of now, the show will resume with no audience and with the staff working remotely.

Fox Television Stations has renewed “The Wendy Williams Show” through Season 13, which will bring the syndicated talker through the 2021-2022 season. Season 12 will begin this fall.

Jimmy Fallon resumed his production last week. He returned to the studio at 30 Rock for the first time in four months, after shooting his daily shows from home. Fallon’s show has followed all the norms and guidelines set by New York authorities. The majority of Fallon’s staff is working from home, and there is no audience.
