This Country: Fox Shows Greenlight To The Remake Of BBC’s Small-Town Mockumentary

Fox is now heading to This Country, with a series order for its remake of the BAFTA-winning BBC mockumentary that was created by Charlie Cooper and Daisy Cooper. Fox’s take, which is from the writer Jenny Bicks, previously worked in Sex and the City, and the director named, Paul Feig, who has previously worked in A Simple Favor, and got a pilot order during the #BeforeTimes.

It sends a documentary crew to a fictional small town in Ohio to study young adults and their current concerns. The focus winds up being the daily lives of cousins Shrub, whose role is played by Sam Straley, previously worked in The Kids Are Alright, and Kelly Mallet, Chelsea Holmes, and their idiosyncratic surroundings.

The show also stars Aya Cash, previously worked in You’re The Worst, Seann William Scott, previously worked in Lethal Weapon, Justin Linville, Youtuber Krystal Smith, and Taylor Ortega, who has previously worked in Kim Possible. Paul Feig said in a statement that he and Jenny are so excited to bring this amazing series to the American public. 

He added that they had assembled a cast of comedic superstars who have taken the hilarious groundwork laid by Charlie Cooper and Daisy and made it their own. They can not thank Charlie Collier, Julia Franz, and Michael Thorn enough for making this comedy dream come true.

Michael Thorn, the chief of Fox Entertainment said that it is fueled by the imaginative wit and distinct comedic voices of Jenny and Paul, they knew This Country was a special project from the moment they heard their pitch. He added that as they curate the comedy brand of Fox, it is really important to align themselves with pedigree talent and dynamic partners with proven track records.
