Santa Inoue’s Tokyo Tribe Waru manga is all set to wrap up on September 1. Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Young Champion magazine’s September issue revealed the news. They said that they will publish the last chapter in their next issue and that will mark the manga’s end.
The manga will also have a fourth and final compiled book. This book will feature the entire manga. It will ship on September 17.
Tokyo Tribe Waru Manga: Synopsis
The manga revolves around the Shivuya Waru gang. It is set after the original Tokyo Tribe manga. Shivuya Waru gang is a ruthless successor of the old Shivuya Saru gang.
Tribes of Tokyo are enjoying peace 5 years after the Shibuya riots. Kim and two other Musashino Saru’ members intrude Wu-Ronz’s territory in Bukuro. Mera, Wu-Ronz’s leader kills three Saru, thinking that they are Shibuya Saru’s members.
Two days later, Kai runs into Mera while searching for them. Kai is a Musashino Saru member. Old friends in their high school days, the two get into a confrontation that ends up leaving Tera, the leader of Musashino Saru, dead and setting the stage for violence between the Tribes.
Manga’s Journey Till Now
Inoue launched the Tokyo Tribe Waru manga in July 2015. The Bessatsu Young Champion magazine debuted the manga. Last November, Akita Shoten launched manga’s third compiled book volume.
Eventually, the manga became very famous and inspired many plays. Inoue’s Tokyo Tribe manga was adapted into a television anime in 2006. Additionally, Inoue marked an appearance as himself in one episode. The manga also inspired the premise of a live-action in 2014.
Inoue began publishing his 12-volume Tokyo Tribe 2 sequel manga back in 1998. It later ended in 2006. Tokyo Tribe 3 sequel was launched in 2008. Inoue launched the sequel’s third part. It later ended in February 2012.
Tokyopop licensed the Tokyo Tribe 2 manga. They translated and published seven English volumes titled Tokyo Tribes.
