Ipyao and Yūjirō Koyama’s Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro manga’s live-action film has gathered attention with an all-new trailer. The live-action film’s official website posted the new trailer, new poster visual, more cast members. Additionally, some of the featured artists on the film’s soundtrack was also revealed on Wednesday.
The trailer revealed that the movie is going to release on October 30. The trailer also shows the film’s theme song, “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars.

Takumi Kitamura will play the role of the protagonist, Agetaro Katsumata. Maika Yamamoto plays the character of a novice stylist and Agetaro’s crush, Sonoko Hattori. Additionally, Papaya Suzuki, Sairi Ito, Asahi Uchida, Kasumi Yamaya, and Yōichiro Saito are among the film’s new cast members.
Many songs like “Sugar” by Maroon 5, “D.A.N.C.E.” by Justice, “Star Guitar” by The Chemical Brothers, “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” by Belinda Carlisle, “My Sharona” by The Knack, and also “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” by C+C Music Factory will feature in the film. Ken Ninomiya has directed Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro. The manga revolves around Agetaro Katsumata. Agetaro is a stupid but honest guy whose family has run a tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) restaurant for three generations. He’s also a beginner club DJ.
Earlier, the film was going to release on June 19 in Japan. The coronavirus pandemic resulted in schedules disruption. The trailer revealed that the movie is going to release on October 30.
The manga was first launched in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app on a weekly basis. It began in November 2014 and ended in March 2017. Also, Akito Daichi directed the anime adaptation of manga which premiered in April 2016. Crunchyroll streams the series after it aired in Japan.
