Two drama series from the creator of Mr Robot, Sam Esmail, and Esmail Corp’s Chad Hamilton are in the stages of development with ABC. Esmail has written and directed the Acts of Crime, which is described only as a unique spin on the crime procedural. He and Chad Hamilton are slated to serves as the executive producers for the Esmail Corp on the series, which has recently been given a commitment of the production, as well as a drama yet to be titled only known as the Untitled CDC Project, the latter of which has landed a script and put a pilot order. The NBCUniversal’s UCP studio is the studio which is behind both the untitled CDC focussed series and the Acts of Crime. His work with the UCP dates back to Mr Robot on USA Network, and more recently the Briarpatch Esmail Corp of USA, which also produces the Homecoming of Amazon Studios as well as Angelyne of the Peacock and the upcoming reboot of the Battlestar Galactics. The reboot of the Battlestar will be marking the third version of the iconic sci-fi series to be aired on the small screen.

Also, according to some of the sources, it has been revealed that UCP is also developing another series from Andy Siara and Esmail, the latter of whom is best known for penning the Andy Samberg film, Palm Springs called, The Resort. It has been described as a darkly comedic series in which a married couple who is on the brink of divorce unwittingly becomes entangled in an unsolved mystery at a resort along the Mayan Riviera.
Last year, Esmail signed a new multi-year overall deal with USP to produce content for both the linear and streaming services. Initially, he signed a deal in the year 2015, with UCP following the debut of Mr Robot.
