Yu Hayato’s Ushijima The Loan Shark: The Legend of Nikumamushi spinoff manga is all set to return this summer. The 35th issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits magazine revealed the news on Monday. It is titled Yamikin Ushijima-kun Nikumamushi Densetsu in Japan.
Last year, the manga went on a definitive break in April 2019. It returned back in the summer of that year.
Ushijima the Loan Shark: Spinoff
Shogakukan owns an online magazine called Yawaraka Spirits. The manga premiered on that magazine in February 2017. It is Shohei Manabe’s manga’s spinoff.
The manga revolves around the character named Nikumamushi. Shogakukan published the manga’s ninth volume on Thursday.
Manabe premiered the original manga in Weekly Big Comic Spirits in 2004. It had a good run and ended in March 2019. The manga’s 46th and final volume shipped on in May 2019. Ushijima the Loan Shark Side Story: Ramen Namerikawa also came to a definitive end with its fifth volume in May 2019. It is titled Ōdō Yamazaki’s Yamikin Ushijima-kun Gaiden: Ramen Namerikawa-san in Japanese.
The loan shark offers loans to people who need money. The loan shark lends money on a 50 percent interest rate. Also, there is condition that the money should be returned within ten days.
Ushijima strives in a really harsh and difficult world. It is difficult to make a living with the work he does.
Ushijima is of pure heart and he never wishes ill of anybody. He doesn’t want his customers to have any problems. Even if it is identity theft, prostitution, or even extortion Ushijima wishes good for them.
The main manga won the general category award in the 56th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2011. It also got nominated at many other awards functions like Osamu Tezuka Culture Prize in 2008 and 2010. Additionally, for France’s Angoulême Comics Awards in 2008.
The manga also got adapted into a live-action television series. The series aired from October-December 2010, and the first film opened in August 2012.
The third season released in July 2016 in Japan. Yamikin Ushijima-kun The Final, the fourth and final live-action film opened in Japan in October 2016.
