Everything we know about season 2 of Amazon Prime’s “Wayne.”
YouTube introduced its Premium version to compete with other OTT platforms. They did create some original content, out of which Wayne turned out to be a hit! Shawn Simmons’ presents this pitch-black action story about a vigilante teen.
Mark McKenna depicts a teenage boy who drives across Brockton, Massachusetts, to Florida to search his late father’s stolen Pontiac Trans-Am. This plot blew quickly among millions of viewers. Critics praised the show as well. However, due to the lack of “premium idea” success for YouTube, they blew the series away and hence the chances for season 2.
Will there be season 2?
You can stream Wayne season 1 on Amazon but, that is no confirmation for season 2. Production or Prime Video hasn’t made any official announcements, but there may be a possibility. Now that we have seen Cobra Kai on Netflix and it got a renewal, we can surely hope the same for Wayne. The fans expect more episodes following the whirlwind romance of Wayne and his brazen girlfriend Del (Ciara Bravo), and their search for justice could get the go-ahead from Amazon eventually.
The cast and crew are rooting for him as well. Show-runner Shawn Simmons and lead actors Mark McKenna and Ciara Bravo encouraged viewers via their social media. They mentioned if the show finds an audience on Amazon, the streamer might bring it back. Meaning, Amazon confirms that the show’s success on the platform could earn a Season 2, it seems like it’s at least in talks of being considered.

When will Wayne season 2 be released?
Amazon Prime will look at the first few months of viewership of Season 1. Following its early November 2020 arrival and decide to pursue a Season 2 based on those numbers. In a recent interview, Shawn mentioned that he has already written the season 2 premiere and has the entire season mapped out. So if Amazon has any plans to renew this dark comedy and the writer’s team up for this, it wouldn’t take much time for them to come up with a script. However, when we consider the previous timeline, the show-makers may deliver it no sooner than late 2021 or even 2022.
