Warner Media is reportedly close to making a decision on Wonder Woman 1984’s release schedule, and it is reportedly considering releasing Wonder Woman 1984 on the online streaming service providing platform of HBO, HBO Max, just a week or two later, after its theatrical premiere.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the studios worldwide to delay the release dates of the movie and take the theatrical releases straight to streaming, but the movie, Wonder Woman 1984, remains the only true blockbuster flick still slated to be released in the cinemas in the year 2020.
But as the coronavirus cases are surging and the Christmas release date nears ever closer, the discussions are underway at Warner Media about whether to delay the movie further to the next year or opt for a quick to home streaming release of the movie.
While it might look like a devastating blow to the cinemas moving the movie to stream, some owners of the theaters are reportedly open to the idea, as they see it as preferable to WarnerMedia delaying the release of the movie altogether.

Ofcourse it was then again pushed to the month of August, then to the month of October, and now we are quickly approaching the official release date of the movie that is Christmas 2020.
Patty Jenkins, the director of the movie, previously denied the rumors that it would go straight to the streaming, saying that direct to streaming is not even being discussed as of now, and they are still behind the theatrical experience of the movie.
They are supporting their beloved theatre business. Today, it may sound like Jenkins is not wavering, but it sounds like a compromise could be in the works that keep the theatres afloat while adding to the subscriber base of HBO Max.
There is still a big chance that the movie could get delayed further until Summer, as the sequel is expected to make upwards of a billion at the box-office. Whatever happens, this would not be a straight release come December.
