You Can Now Stream Live Action Mulan On Disney+ For Free

Finally, you can watch Mulan without an additional paywall. Disney’s live-action remake of the animated film Mulan of the year 1998 skipped a theatrical release in the United States, being made available to stream on Disney Plus.

Initially, the Mulan remake cost the subscribers an extra $30 on top of their new or existing subscription, but that period is almost over. As of today, December 4, Mulan is made free to all Disney Plus subscribers.

Disney’s live-action remake film is based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, and it follows a young woman in China who successfully poses as a man to take the place of her ailing father in the war against the Huns.

In the live-action film, which is helmed by director Niki Caro, Yifei Liu plays the lead role. Unlike the G-rated animated classic movies, Mulan for 2020 is rated PG-13 for violent sequences, and it is a more realistic telling of her epic journey.

Critics have described the new film as vibrant, exciting, and emotional. Today, December 4, it is going to be released to all Disney Plus subscribers to watch at no additional charge.

You would not have to go through any additional paywall. All that is required is to purchase a Disney Plus subscription and watch.

But the Executive Editor Roger Cheng saw huge problems with the movie because it mimicked elements of other major Disney franchises, like Avengers and Star Wars. Those who had not seen the original animated version enjoyed it more.

But above and beyond the movie’s quality, there were Mulan boycotts when it was initially released this year. These boycotts resulted from Uyghur Muslims’ treatment in China’s Xinjiang region, where some of the films were shot, and China’s crackdown on freedoms in Hong Kong.

Disney Plus currently lets its subscribers download all of its shows and movies to watch offline. Mulan has all the same product features that other titles on Disney Plus do, so it’s also available for download.

With its live-action Mulan, Disney got a chance to breathe life into the legendary female warrior, a fixture of centuries-old Chinese storytelling, with a serious retelling and a picture-perfect cast.
